The Kraken is a large purple squid that mainly wishes to sleep, and is rather cranky that they have to wake up to fight in the Dicey Dungeons.
According to the localization notes for the fighters, the Kraken is the parent of the Baby Squid.
The Kraken's three pieces of equipment in the Reunion DLC are references to lines from Alfred, Lord Tennyson's 1830 poem “The Kraken”.
The Kraken usually focuses on using Deep Sea Howl first, then using Overwhelm, while leaving enough dice to use Camouflage at the end. They will usually prioritize having enough dice to blind the player, so freezing dice usually won't do too much. However, burning dice can help because the Kraken will usually use a large number of dice.
While freezing dice may help avoid damage from Overwhelm or getting cursed, be aware that the Kraken will usually always blind you each turn.
Since this fight may last a while, coming into the fight with limit break charged, building up poison and using equipment that doesn't need high dice values may help with fighting the Kraken.
In the Reunion, the Kraken focuses on hiding your equipment rather than hiding your dice values, since shock prevents you from seeing the requirements that Confuse can't obscure. Additionally, Curse is still a big issue.
Preparing equipment with a wide variety of dice requirements will help with the confusion.
The Kraken's bio is not obtainable in-game, but it is stored in the data:
